We believe that one of the ways to engage in worship to God is through the vehicle of music. There are numerous references throughout the Bible in which God’s people used music as a means to express their gratitude, prayers, love, and devotion to God.
Although music is the vehicle, the destination is the presence of God. We at the House of Faith believe that the Holy Spirit is the worship leader, and that only by his leading can we come into the presence of God. The Bible says that “God inhabits the praises of His people” in Psalms 22:3. In other words, God “dwells” in the atmosphere of His praise. When people come into God’s presence, they are changed. The Holy Spirit uses the Judah First Worship Team to assist God’s people in expressing themselves to God. The worship team is not designed to entertain or perform, but to be leaders like the Levites in the Old Testament, who were tasked with the role of functioning as the singers, musicians and the leaders of the singing in the Tabernacle of David.
HOF (House of Faith) believes that although God is deserving of our best efforts and excellence, He is most interested in our hearts. Our Worship Team works to produce the best quality of music possible, always striving for continued improvement and development. The members of the Worship Team are instruments that God uses to inspire, motivate and encourage hearts to enter into worshipping God in Spirit and in truth. The team desires to be the very best they can be for one another, for those they lead and, ultimately, for the God that has provided them gifts for one purpose, to give them back to Him.
Why JUDAH FIRST?
There were twelve tribes of Israel. Why should Judah be called upon to go up first? (Judges 1:1-12 & 20:18) The Hebrew word translated as Judah is used many times in English as PRAISE. So the scripture could be translated as, LET PRAISE GO UP FIRST. This is good advice for us when facing struggles or battles. Let us first praise. This is both an act of faith and submission. Praise God before the battle is entered; anyone can praise when the battle is over and won. Only by faith can we praise at the start.
